Orianthi, The first time I saw you, I was filled with overwhelming joy!!!!! Literally I cried numerous times because finally an incredible woman guitarist arrived on the scene. I have long been awaiting your arrival and to see you play with the big boys was breath taking!! Back in the 80's I aspired to your level of proficiency, I've always wanted to go to GIT, but I lived on the east coast and life didn't allow it. My favorite guitarists at the time were Yngwie, Satriani and of course Vai. I also was heavily influenced by Michael Sweet of Stryper. I loved his sound and the dueling leads. However, I did manage to study with an awesome guitarist, named Mike Flyntz from the band Riot at Guitar Masters in Long Island. He always believed in me and treated me like one of the guys. I had an incredible drive and passion for the guitar and eventually started achieving a higher level of skills on the instrument. Then as the 90's were ushered in by the "Grunge Era" my desire to play diminished. I did manage to stay involved in music by teaching, playing in coffee houses and local gigs, but honestly the wind was taken out of my sail as the times changed. Now fast forward to now, everything about YOU has inspired me to once again dust off my Flying V, my 24 fret Jackson and connect it to my Marshall, and then...... I turn it up to 11!!! Love, Joy and Much Success, I will share your music with everyone I know. BTW I work in a very prestigious conservative Music College, Westminster Choir College School of the Arts in Princeton New Jersey and the kids are learning all about you and loving it!!!! Thank you for being you and for following your dream!!! And also thank your mom for having you today!!! Happy Birthday Orianthi!!!!!
